A profile essay is not just a collection of facts and figures; it is a powerful literary piece that delves deep into the essence of a person, place, or event. This form of writing goes beyond surface-level descriptions to create a vivid and engaging portrayal that captivates readers emotionally.

When crafting a profile essay outline, the writer aims to explore a specific individual’s life, personality, experiences, achievements, or unique qualities of a place or event. It seeks to paint a comprehensive picture, offering readers a window into the subject’s world and allowing them to connect with it on a deeper level.

A well-written profile essay immerses the reader in the subject’s experiences, thoughts, and emotions by employing descriptive language, storytelling techniques, and insightful observations. It evokes empathy and understanding, enabling readers to forge a connection and gain a deeper appreciation for the person, place, or event being portrayed.

In summary, a profile essay is a literary work that aims to go beyond superficial details and statistics. It is a means of conveying the essence of a subject through engaging storytelling, providing readers with a rich and immersive experience that leaves a lasting impact.

How To Start A Profile Essay

The beginning of a profile essay is vital in capturing the reader’s attention and setting the tone for the rest of the piece. It requires careful consideration and strategic planning to ensure a strong start. Here are a few practical ways how to write a good profile essay:

  1. Choose an Intriguing Subject:
The first step in starting a profile essay is selecting a subject that intrigues you and has a compelling story. Consider individuals, places, or events that pique your interest and evoke curiosity. This will make the writing process more enjoyable and help you engage your readers from the beginning.

    • Look for unique qualities: Seek out subjects with unique backgrounds, experiences, or achievements. These aspects can add depth and intrigue to your profile essay.
    • Consider relevance: Choose a subject relevant to your intended audience or the purpose of the assignment. This will help create a stronger connection and interest among your readers.
  2. Conduct Thorough Research:
Once you have chosen your subject, conduct thorough research to gather as much information as possible. This step is essential to ensure your profile essay is detailed, accurate, and well-informed. Here are some key research strategies to employ:

    • Interview your subject: Reach out to the individual you are profiling and request an interview. Prepare a thoughtful question list about their life, experiences, and perspectives. These interviews will provide invaluable insights and personal anecdotes that can enhance the depth of your essay.
    • Read articles and books: Explore articles, books, and other publications related to your subject. This will provide a broader context and enable you to include relevant background information in your profile essay.
    • Explore online sources: Utilize reputable online sources such as websites, blogs, and academic databases to gather additional information and perspectives on your subject. Be critical of your authorities and ensure they are credible and reliable.
  3. Craft a Strong Thesis Statement:
A well-crafted thesis statement is crucial for guiding your profile essay and providing a clear direction for your readers. It should concisely state the purpose of your essay and highlight the main aspects you will be exploring. Consider the following when formulating your thesis statement:

    • Be concise and specific: State your main argument or the central theme of your profile essay clearly and concisely.
    • Make it captivating: Use language that captures the reader’s attention and creates intrigue. A compelling thesis statement will generate interest and encourage readers to continue reading.
    • Provide a roadmap: Your thesis statement should act as a roadmap for your essay, indicating the main points or areas of focus you will cover. This helps readers understand the structure and flow of your essay.

Starting a profile essay requires careful consideration of the subject, thorough research, and a well-crafted thesis statement. Choosing an intriguing topic, conducting a comprehensive analysis, and formulating a solid thesis statement can captivate your readers and set the stage for a compelling and informative profile essay. Remember, the start of your essay sets the tone for the entire piece, so invest time and effort into crafting a high quality and strong opening that engages and intrigues your readers.

Profile Essay Structure Guides

Writing a profile essay requires a structured approach combining storytelling and factual information. Follow these steps to create a well-crafted profile essay:

  1. Introduction: Begin your essay with a compelling opening sentence that hooks the reader. Provide some background information about the subject and introduce the main thesis statement.
  2. Body Paragraphs: Divide your essay into multiple paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect or theme related to the topic. Use a mix of narrative storytelling and factual information to engage the reader. Include anecdotes, quotes, and descriptions to bring your subject to life.
  3. Organization and Flow: Ensure a logical progression from one paragraph to another. Use transitional phrases to maintain the coherence of your essay. Consider arranging your sections thematically or chronologically, depending on what suits your subject best.
  4. Descriptive Language: Incorporate vivid and descriptive language to create a sensory experience for the reader. Use specific details and imagery to make your subject come alive.
  5. Conclusion: Summarize the main points discussed in your essay and leave the reader with a lasting impression. Reflect on the significance of your topic and its impact on the reader.

Crafting An Outstanding Profile Essay: Essential Tips

When writing a profile essay, it’s essential to remember key elements that will enhance the quality of your work. Here are some essential tips to help you craft an outstanding profile essay:

  1. Choose an Engaging Format: While there is no strict format for a profile essay, you can structure it to suit your subject and the narrative you want to create. You can opt for a chronological structure, a thematic approach, or a combination of both.
  2. Conduct Thorough Interviews: Interviews are crucial in gathering firsthand information about your subject. Prepare a list of relevant questions and conduct interviews with the subject and individuals associated with them. These interviews will enrich your profile essay with unique insights and personal anecdotes.
  3. Focus on Descriptive Details: Pay attention to descriptive details to bring your subject to life. Use sensory language to create a vivid picture in the reader’s mind. Describe the subject’s appearance, gestures, and mannerisms. Include details about the environment, sounds, and smells to transport the reader to the scene.
  4. Utilize Direct Quotes: Direct quotes from your subject and others you interview add authenticity and credibility to your profile essay. Use quotes to highlight important points or capture the subject’s voice and perspective.
  5. Show, Don’t Tell: Rather than simply stating facts, show the reader the subject’s personality, values, and experiences through storytelling. Engage the reader’s emotions by narrating impactful moments or sharing significant events that shaped the subject’s life.
  6. Revise and Edit: Once you have completed your profile essay’s first draft, revise and edit it. Check for clarity, coherence, and grammar errors. Trim unnecessary information and ensure a smooth flow of ideas. Consider seeking feedback from peers or instructors to gain valuable insights.

How To Cheat On ALEKS Reliable And Quick Guide https://assignmentgeek.com/blog/how-to-cheat-on-aleks/ https://assignmentgeek.com/blog/how-to-cheat-on-aleks/#respond Wed, 10 May 2023 11:43:05 +0000 https://assignmentgeek.com/blog/?p=1870 Are you tired of staring at your screen, desperately trying to figure out what the heck ALEKS is asking you? And thought to yourself, “I’d rather watch crayons melt than do another ALEKS assignment”? Fear not, my struggling friend!

Today, we’re spilling the beans on how to pull off the ultimate ALEKS hacks and cheats. We’ll show you how to outsmart the system and get those grades without breaking a sweat. So, buckle up and get ready for some serious ALEKS cheats and ALEKS cheat tricks. Trust us, your GPA will thank you later.

What Is ALEKS?

First things first, let’s answer the question “What is ALEKS?”

ALEKS is an online learning platform that employs advanced artificial intelligence to help students improve their knowledge and skills in subjects like Math, Science, and Engineering. This platform stands for “Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces.” ALEKS provides personalized learning experiences, tailoring content to the individual student’s skill level and learning pace.

Now, if you are a student wondering how to get ALEKS answers hack, it’s important to note that ALEKS is designed to assess your knowledge and help you learn the material. Many colleges and universities use ALEKS as a part of their online course delivery system for homework, quizzes, tests, and proctored exams.

As a student, you should take advantage of the platform’s personalized learning approach and work through the material at your own pace to improve your skills and understanding of the subject.

Can ALEKS Detect Cheating?

ALEKS uses an advanced algorithm to detect cheating, and the platform has built-in features to monitor student progress and identify suspicious activity. Some of these features include:

  • Webcam monitoring to detect unusual behavior or use of unauthorized materials: Webcam monitoring is an effective way to detect cheating in online assessments. By using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms, the system can analyze the test-takers behavior and identify any suspicious activity.

Some examples of unusual behavior that the system can detect include looking away from the screen for an extended period, talking to someone off-screen, or using unauthorized materials such as notes or textbooks. The webcam can also capture the test-takers facial expressions, which can provide insights into their level of engagement or stress during the test.

  • Detection of multiple logins from different devices or IP addresses: ALEKS can monitor for multiple logins from different devices or IP addresses. This can help detect if someone is sharing their login credentials with others or if an unauthorized person is accessing the system.

The system can also track the location of the logins to identify any unusual activity or patterns. For example, if someone is logging in from a different country or city, it could be a red flag indicating potential cheating.

  • Flagging of unusually fast or slow progress in completing assignments or answering questions: ALEKS can track the time it takes for a student to complete assignments or answer questions. If a student completes assignments or answers questions much faster than usual, it could be an indication that they are using outside resources or collaborating with others.

On the other hand, if a student is taking much longer than usual, it could suggest that they are struggling with the material or looking up answers. Flagging these unusual progress rates can prompt further investigation by instructors or administrators.

While ALEKS has measures in place to detect cheating, it is NOT foolproof. Some methods can still bypass these systems.

How To Hack ALEKS And How To Cheat ALEKS

Now that we know what ALEKS is and if it can detect cheating, let’s dive into the ways you can cheat or hack the platform:

  1. Use an online service or hire a test taker: Several online services offer assistance with ALEKS assignments or tests. These services employ experts and math pros to complete assignments or tests for a fee. However, these services can be risky as they can be unreliable, and there is a possibility of being caught.
  2. Use a cheat sheet or notes: One of the easiest ways to cheat on ALEKS is to use a cheat sheet or notes. You can create a cheat sheet with formulas, definitions, and other key information that you might need. You can also use notes on a separate device or paper, but be careful not to get caught.
  3. Collaborate with a friend: Collaborating with a friend is another way to cheat on ALEKS. You can work together on assignments or tests and share answers. However, this method can be risky as ALEKS can detect unusual behavior or patterns, which can lead to getting caught.
  4. Use a virtual machine or VPN: Using a virtual machine or VPN can help you bypass ALEKS’s security measures. A virtual machine is a software program that emulates a computer system, allowing you to run another operating system within it. A VPN, on the other hand, is a service that masks your IP address and location, making it difficult to detect unusual activity. However, using a virtual machine or VPN can be complicated and requires some technical knowledge.

Study Tips And Advice When Using ALEKS

While cheating might be an option, it is not recommended. It is always better to study and learn the material. Here are some study tips and advice when using ALEKS:

  1. Set a schedule and stick to it: Creating a schedule and sticking to it can help you stay on track and avoid procrastination. Make a plan to complete assignments or tests ahead of time to avoid last-minute panic.
  2. Take advantage of ALEKS’s personalized learnin: ALEKS’s personalized learning is designed to help students learn at their own pace. Take advantage of this by reviewing and practicing topics you struggle with the most.
  3. Seek help from experts or teachers: If you are struggling with a particular topic, don’t hesitate to seek help from experts or your teachers. They can provide additional explanations and resources that can help you better understand the material.
  4. Use ALEKS regularly: Regular use of ALEKS can help you retain information and stay on top of your coursework. Make sure to practice and review regularly to reinforce what you have learned.
  5. Stay motivated: Staying motivated is crucial when it comes to learning. Set goals for yourself and celebrate your progress along the way. Also, try to stay engaged and interested in the material by finding real-life applications and examples that relate to your life or interests. Remember, learning is a lifelong journey, so keep at it!

Risks And Consequences Of Cheating On ALEKS

Cheating on ALEKS may seem like an easy way to improve your scores, but it carries significant risks and can have long-term consequences. In this section, we will explore the risks and potential consequences of cheating on ALEKS.

  • Cheating also undermines the purpose of education, which is to learn and improve your skills and knowledge. It may give you a false sense of accomplishment, but it will not help you in the long run.
  • By cheating, you may be robbing yourself of the opportunity to develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills that are essential in the workplace. Employers value employees who are honest, hardworking, and have integrity.

  • The consequences of cheating on ALEKS can follow you for the rest of your life. It is not worth the risk.

Does ALEKS Record You?

When it comes to academic integrity and fairness, educational institutions have a responsibility to maintain a level playing field. ALEKS, an adaptive learning system, is one tool that schools may use to detect cheating and promote academic honesty. By tracking student progress and behavior, ALEKS can identify irregular patterns that may indicate academic misconduct, such as sudden improvements in grades or suspicious login activity.

Furthermore, ALEKS can flag individuals who complete assessments too quickly or answer questions too accurately, suggesting that they may have cheated. While some may view this level of monitoring as intrusive, it serves as a necessary safeguard against academic dishonesty, which can undermine the integrity of education and diminish the value of credentials.

First, What Is A Biographical Essay?

Let’s start with the beginning. What is a biographical essay?

A biographical essay is a type of academic paper that tells the story of a person’s life, usually focusing on their achievements, experiences, and impact on the world. The purpose of a biographical essay is to provide an in-depth and accurate portrayal of the subject’s life while highlighting key events and significant moments that shaped their character and legacy.

A biographical essay typically follows a chronological structure, beginning with the person’s early life and progressing through their major accomplishments, challenges and significant events. You may also include some information about the subject’s family, education, career, relationships, and personal values.

To write a great biographical essay, you need to conduct extensive research and gather accurate information about the person’s life. You should be prepared to review historical documents, conduct interviews with people who knew the person and consult several other reliable sources. You must then synthesize the information and create a compelling and engaging narrative that covers the subject’s life and accomplishments in great depth.

What Is Included In A Biography?

The first step is deciding what to put in biography. There is no set list of chapters that need to be included. A biography is not a research paper, thesis or dissertation. However, there are some common elements of a biography that you should consider adding to your paper (some, like the introduction and conclusion, are mandatory):

  1. Introduction. The introduction provides an overview of the person’s life, including their name, occupation and significance.
  2. Background information. This chapter provides context and background information about the person’s life, including their upbringing, family and education.
  3. Major life events. The essay should cover the major life events of the person, such as their accomplishments, challenges and contributions to their field or society.
  4. Personal qualities. It is important to include information about the person’s personality traits, values and beliefs. Bring the character to life using a carefully-crafted narrative.
  5. Impact and legacy. The bibliography essay should also cover the person’s impact and legacy, both during their lifetime and after their death.
  6. Death. If the subject is deceased, you can often write a short paragraph about the circumstances surrounding their death.
  7. Conclusion. The conclusion summarizes the person’s life and impact, and provides final thoughts on their significance and legacy.

What Is An Opinion Essay?

Now, we know there are many students who didn’t encounter this type of writing prompt before. This is why we would like to start by explaining the term “opinion essay”. So, what is an opinion essay?

An opinion essay is a type of writing where you present your personal perspective on a specific topic. You need to clearly state your opinion, provide supporting evidence and reasoning, and consider any opposing viewpoints. The aim of an opinion essay is to convince the reader to agree with your viewpoint.

You can write an opinion essay on a wide range of topics, from your own beliefs to social and political issues. To write a successful opinion essay, it’s important to organize your thoughts and express them clearly, using strong and concise language. You will also need to refute the most important opposing views.

But why are these opinions essays so important, you ask? Well, opinion essays are important in education because:

  • They help develop critical thinking skills and encourage students to express their ideas and perspectives.
  • The process of writing opinion essays helps students learn to support their arguments with evidence and to consider and address opposing viewpoints.
  • Writing opinion essays helps students improve their writing and communication skills, preparing them for real-world writing tasks such as academic essays, persuasive letters, and public speaking.
  • The act of writing opinion essays can be a valuable educational experience that teaches students how to think critically and express themselves effectively.

A Word On The Opinion Essay Format

Remember, opinion essay writing is not as easy as it sounds. Before we get into more details, we want to ensure you know how such an academic paper is structured. Because yes, the way you structure your paper has a significant impact on your final grade. Your writing should be organized in a logical manner and you should be able to transition smoothly from one paragraph to the next. Here is the typical structure of an opinion essay:

  1. Introduction
    • Briefly introduce the topic being discussed. The introduction should provide background information on the subject and set the stage for the thesis statement.
    • Present your thesis statement, which is the main argument or point of view being presented in the essay. Remember that a thesis statement must not only be concise, but also directly address the topic being discussed.
  2. Body Paragraphs
    • These will provide evidence that will support the thesis statement. Each body paragraph should focus on a specific aspect of the topic, and provide detailed explanation and analysis of how it supports your perspective/point of view.
    • Present and analyze several different points of view on your chosen topic. This section should provide a balanced and fair examination of other opinions on the subject, even if you disagree with them.
    • Use specific details, or perhaps use some examples, to support your own perspective. This can include personal experiences, statistics, expert opinions, and other relevant information.
  3. Counterargument
    • Present and refute one or two of the most important opposing arguments to your opinion. In this section, you should anticipate and address any potential objections or challenges to your viewpoint.
    • Show that your perspective is stronger or more valid. By refuting opposing arguments, you can demonstrate why your opinion is the most credible and compelling.
  4. Conclusion
    • Summarize the main points you have discussed in your essay. The conclusion should briefly restate the author’s thesis statement, along with the supporting evidence provided in the body paragraphs.
    • Restate the thesis statement. The thesis statement should be restated in a new and creative way, while still preserving its original meaning.
    • End with a final thought or conclusion that ties everything together. This could be a call to action, a prediction, or a statement of hope or concern related to the topic being discussed.

Learn How To Start An Opinion Essay

The introduction sets the tone for the rest of the essay and provides the reader with a roadmap for what is to come. It should be engaging and interesting. But what if I don’t know how to start an opinionated essay? Perhaps you’re not very good at writing introductions for essays, and you don’t want to buy assignment online. Don’t worry about it too much though. We’ll give you some tips and advice that should help you write an excellent introduction in no time:

  • Start the essay with a thought-provoking statement or a question to grab the reader’s attention. This is called a hook
  • Write a clear thesis statement. It should clearly state your opinion on the topic.
  • Provide some context for the topic, giving the reader a general understanding of the issue being discussed.
  • Give a brief overview of the main points that will be discussed in the essay, so the reader knows what to expect.
  • Connect the introduction to the body of the essay, making a smooth transition from the general to the specific.

You shouldn’t spend more than 20 or 30 minutes working on the introduction if you follow these tips. Also, your professor will greatly appreciate the fact that you have included all the necessary elements in your intro.

And remember, the introduction is critical in an opinion essay as it sets the tone for the entire piece and provides the reader with a clear understanding of the topic and the writer’s stance. A strong introduction should grab the reader’s attention, provide background information, and state the thesis clearly and concisely.

The government provision of healthcare is one of the most controversial issues in the contemporary political realm. Some people argue that the government should be responsible for the well being of its citizens and that this should include the provision of health care for everyone who lives in the country. In this paper I will argue that the government should not provide health care. It will argue this from several different perspectives. First of all, I will argue the government provision of health care goes against American values which are vitally important for what it means to live in the country. I will also then go on to argue that provision of healthcare is financially bad for the economy and that it has been shown in other places to have a negative effect of people’s lives, and therefore, both for ideaological reasons and for material ones, the government should not provide health care to its citizens. One of the major components of the American tradition is belief in freedom, specifically economic and governmental freedom. A large healthcare is already provided by companies who are responsible for health insurance. This is both a public good and it is also something which exists in line with traditional beliefs about the value and importance of economic and entrepreneurial freedom for people who live, and seek to do business, in the United States of America. Not only is this freedom central to what it means to live in America, but it has also been argued that it is a central part of societal stability and happiness for the general population.
The issue of Healthcare appears to be very important in and of itself,  however, it also points to a problem which cannot be solved easily. America is capitalist society and therefore founded on the freedom of choice of the consumer and the producer. One of the most famous economists of the century, Milton Friedman, drew attention to this freedom and made it central to his writing about the way that society should function. He main argument was that government should intervene as little as possible in the way that the economy was run and that this would lead to economic prosperity as the economic market is, in most cases, able to regulate and to run itself. He also claims that this can lead to solving problems such as racism and other kinds of prejudice in society. He writes that the great virtue of a free market system is that it does not care what color people are; it does not care what their religion is; it only cares whether they can produce something you want to buy. It is the most effective system we have discovered to enable people who hate one another to deal with one another and help one another.
For the government to begin providing healthcare for all of its citizens would fundamentally undermine existing companies and organisation which provide healthcare for people and do so within the remit of American ideology. This free market ideology can be seen to be responsible for a largely harmonious society in which people are able to live in relative freedom. When the State provides healthcare then it risks undermining this sense of freedom, and therefore risks undermining the social fabric itself.
A part of this argument can also be extended to the individuals themselves who claim healthcare and insist that they need it from the government. One writer argues that this fundamentally goes against the idea of individual responsibility. This idea is again a large part of what it means to be American and to live in a country in which one must take responsibility for one’ s actions and understand both they affect oneself and also how they affect others. I would argue that it is entirely possible for individuals to have access to healthcare via the current system of insurance, which is run according to the principles of capitalist freedom and enterprise. One writer states that the idea of healthcare as a State responsibility goes against such principles. The idea of individual responsibility can be seen to ‘revolve around the question, “Am I my brothers keeper?” For those who believe more strongly in individual responsibility, the answer is “no.” Universal healthcare, by nature involves subsidization of the health care costs of the uninsured, an idea that conflicts with the individual responsibility frame.’ (DK, 2014.) The government provision of healthcare goes against ideas of capitalist freedom and it also goes against ideas of individual responsibility. It encourages a system in which people who have not been successful enough to be able to gain health insurance prove to be a burden on those who have. This is a fundamentally unjust system and therefore I would argue that it should not be encouraged.
In order for the government to provide healthcare then it would be necessary for those individuals who do not have access to health insurance to have their fees paid for. This money could only come out of taxes paid by those people who do have health insurance and who have worked hard and sacrificed in order to have it. This would be a fundamentally unjust situation. It is one which has been described by several writers who have commented on the nature of universal health care. It is also one which has proven to be true in parts of the world which has a system of universal, State funded, healthcare. For example, the UK is famous for providing free healthcare. However, recently it has been estimated that citizens of that country will need to pay much higher taxes in order to maintain it in the state which it is in and that this will have a detrimental effect on the economy of the country and on the lives of the people who live in it. One writers states that; ‘Without significant changes to spending levels [in the healthcare sector], huge sacrifices will have to be made by future generation either through significantly higher taxes or reduced benfits.” (Chan, 2014.) The same writer also states that the problems with providing healthcare could not be solved by projections of economic growth, but rather that growth would be severely harmed by the taxes which would need to be implemented in order to maintain the same standard of healthcare that exists in the country; ‘Governments will not be able to grow their way out of trouble…and are too often fixated on short term growth.’
The same idea of short-termism can be applied to thinking about the way that State provided healthcare would function in the USA. It is likely to be something which may well win votes for which ever parties or individuals declare themselves to be in favour of it, however, it is likely to have long term detrimental effect on the economy of the country as a whole, as we are now seeing in the increases of taxes and the suffering of people in the UK. Therefore, not only does the very idea of a government providing health care go some of the most important ideals of being American, it has also proven in other places to be both economically and politically unsustainable.
In conclusion, I have argued in this paper that the US government should not provide healthcare to its citizens. In order to argue this, I have shown that the provision of such healthcare goes against key American ideals and also that it is economically bad for the country, as it has been for other countries in which it has been implemented. The US government is currently attempting to recover from a major slump in growth and to cope with several key economic and social issues. However, if these issues are to be met then it is vital to encourage both economic growth and also the ideals of freedom and individual responsibility upon which the USA was founded. Both of these would be damaged by the introduction of government provided healthcare and therefore I am of the opinion that should not be done, either now or in the future.

  3. Write a catchy introduction for an opinion essay. Start with a hood – something that will instantly capture your readers’ attention. Here is a quick example: “In a rapidly changing job market where technology and automation are transforming the workforce, is a college education still worth the investment?”
  4. Write 2 or 3 body paragraphs. Each should discuss an important idea that supports your thesis. Here is an example of such an idea: “a college degree provides individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a constantly evolving job market”
  5. Write a paragraph that refutes one or two of the most important opposing viewpoints. For instance, an opposing opinion would be that “there are alternative paths to success that do not require a college degree, such as trade schools, apprenticeships, or on-the-job training programs”.
  6. Write a conclusion that wraps everything up. Don’t forget to restate your thesis (reword it, do not copy and paste it from the introduction). Wrap everything up with a call to action or a statement of hope. Here is a great example: “It is time for society to recognize and value the long-term benefits of a college education and take action to ensure access and affordability for all in today’s competitive job market!”
  7. Edit and proofread your work thoroughly! By taking the time to edit and proofread your essay, you are demonstrating your commitment to producing high-quality work and presenting yourself in the best light possible.

How To Revise An Essay Quickly And Efficiently https://assignmentgeek.com/blog/how-to-revise-an-essay/ https://assignmentgeek.com/blog/how-to-revise-an-essay/#respond Wed, 14 Dec 2022 15:38:35 +0000 https://assignmentgeek.com/blog/?p=1826 If you don’t know how to revise an essay, you have arrived at the right place. In this article, we will explain what essay revising is, as well as give you the steps to revise an essay the right way. In addition, you will get valuable tips, tricks and advice from our experienced academic writers and editors. After reading this article, which should not take you more than 20 minutes, you will know everything there is to know about revising all kinds of academic papers.

What is the best way for the student to revise the essay? What are the best revision strategies for essays? These are just two of the questions our article tries to answer. Truth be told, students can lose a lot of points simply because they don’t know how to revise their own work. Knowing how to revise an academic paper can make the difference between a B and an A+. Yes, it really is that important!

What Is Essay Revising?

OK, but what does it mean to revise an essay? Basically, essay revising is the process of critically analyzing your ideas (and the way you present them in the paper) and editing certain parts. Here are some of the things you can do during the revision:

  • You may want to delete phrases that seem unnecessary.
  • You can choose to add some content to paragraphs that are too short.
  • You can rephrase sentences that are not clear or that are not correctly written.
  • You can check punctuation and grammar.
  • You can check the paragraph length.
  • You may want to analyze the flow of ideas and organize them in a logical manner.
  • You may also need to edit the introduction and the conclusion.
  • Finally, you should take a look at the thesis statement and make sure it is strong and clear.

But how do you revise an essay without making it shorter? Don’t be afraid to make your paper a bit shorter; it probably won’t make any difference. During the revision process, you can add, delete or move sentences around. You can also rearrange the paragraphs if the current structure does not make sense. You must polish your paper and bring it as close to perfection as possible. Believe us, professors really appreciate students who take the time to edit and revise their work.

Importance Of Revising Essays

But why is revising essays so important? Most students think of themselves as experienced academic writers. They have written a dozen or so essays and one or two research papers already, so what can go wrong? Well, the truth is that even experienced academic writers who do this for a living make mistakes. Perhaps it’s a run-on sentence or two. Or perhaps some of the facts and names got mixed up. These are mistakes that will get you penalized. Here are the main reasons why you should learn how to revise properly right away:

  1. Revising will definitely make your essay better. Even if you make slight changes, the end result will be better than the original version.
  2. You can quickly catch mistakes related to factual information. Even if you believe something to be true, research may contradict you.
  3. Going over your paper gives you the opportunity to fix run-on sentences, find and fix incorrect pronouns, remove dangling modifier errors, and fix punctuation issues.
  4. You can make the introduction a lot more intriguing and the conclusion stronger.
  5. By reading your work, you will quickly notice awkward sentences and poor transitioning between paragraphs.
  6. You will find words that don’t quite convey the meaning you want them to convey. You should replace them with powerful synonyms.
  7. You will sometimes find certain statements that are not supported by research. You can either remove them or back them up with data from authoritative sources.
  8. Finally, you will most likely find errors in formatting citations, references and quotations. These can be easily fixed.

As you can see, knowing how to revise a paper the right way can greatly improve your chances of getting a top grade. Now that you know why learning how to revise essay is important, it’s time to get to the core of our article: the guide. Don’t worry; it’s not difficult at all. You can use the steps in our guide for any type of paper (including research papers, theses and even dissertations).

So, How Do You Revise an Essay?

Ready to learn how to revise an essay in college? While there are many methods you can use, we believe that certain steps are absolutely mandatory. Here is what you need to do:

  1. The revision of an essay begins with the introduction. Make sure your intro begins with a “hook” (a statement that catches your reader’s interest). Include your thesis after the hook and use the rest of the introduction to provide some background information (or present the research questions). Make a smooth transition to the first body paragraph.
  2. Make sure you have at least 3 body paragraphs – all correctly indented. Aim for less than 100 words per paragraph. Normally, you would start the paragraph with a statement and use the rest of the paragraph to support it. Make a transition to the next paragraph.
  3. Check the conclusion. It should restate your thesis and summarize the most important ideas in your paper. Make it clear how your research supports your thesis. You can end the conclusion with a call to action, but it is not mandatory.
  4. Now that the structure looks good, it’s time to focus on sentences and words. Read your essay from start to finish and break long sentences into shorter ones. Correct every grammar, spelling or punctuation mistake you find.
  5. If you find a paragraph that needs some more content, add it. If you have a long paragraph, eliminate unnecessary information.
  6. At this point, your essay should be well structured and should not contain any grammar, spelling or punctuation mistakes. It’s time to look at the formatting. Make sure you format the paper exactly as you have been instructed by your professor. Indentation, line spacing, paragraph spacing, font style, font size, page margins – all are very important.
  7. Check your citations and quotations. Make sure they are formatted properly. Also make sure each one is included in the References section. You must follow the format set forth in the stylebook.
  8. Check all the references to make sure they are from authoritative sources. Primary and secondary sources are best, so do not use Wikipedia or similar websites.
  9. Read your paper one last time and fix the mistakes you may have overlooked. Congratulations! Your paper is, at last, ready for submission.

Tips, Tricks And Advice To Help Revise Your Essay

Now that you know how to revise and edit an essay, we can help you with some of the best tips for revising essays. These tips, tricks and advice should make it easy for you to revise academic papers in record time and do a wonderful job:

  • All your ideas need to be organized in a logical order. This is important because otherwise your readers may get confused and you may lose points.
  • Everything in your paper should be relevant and should be there to support your thesis. If some parts are unnecessary, don’t be afraid to delete them.
  • It’s a very good idea to give your paper to your friends or family to read and ask them for their feedback. You’ll be amazed by how many things you’ve missed during the revision.
  • Make sure that everything you have used to write the paper is listed in the References section. Quotes and citations need an entry there as well.
  • If your professor has given you some guidelines (like font size, font and line spacing, indentation, and so on), ensure you stick to them throughout the paper.
  • Are all verb forms correct? Do they agree with their subjects? These are some of the most common mistakes students make in their essays.
  • Don’t rely on any facts (even if they are common knowledge) without checking them. In addition, do not make any false assumptions.
  • Carefully read all sentences and make sure they are not too long. Long sentences can easily be broken in smaller ones that are a lot easier to read and understand.
  • Your statements should support your thesis. However, it’s not wrong to discuss opposing points of view.
  • If you are want to use technical terms, explain these terms the first time you use them. This also applies to abbreviations.

Essay Revision FAQ

When it comes to essay revision, things can sometimes get a bit complicated. Various academic writing standards (APA, MLA, Chicago, Turabian, etc.) have different requirements. We will try to answer the most frequently asked questions below:

Q: How long should my paragraphs be?

A: When revising the overall structure of your essay, it’s important to organize your paper correctly. Lengthy paragraphs are just as bad as very short ones. The perfect paragraph is anywhere from 60 to 100 words long.

Q: Should I adhere to every guideline in the stylebook?

A: Yes. You can find a stylebook for every academic writing format with relative ease using Google, so make sure you read it carefully. Your professor will penalize you if you don’t adhere to its guidelines.

Q: Can I base my writing on my own opinions?

A: Yes and no. Unless you are an expert in your field (which you probably are not), you should refrain from basing your writing on your own opinions. In other words, do not present opinions as facts, especially when you can’t back them up with credible research data.

Q: How do I know my conclusion is written correctly?

A: The perfect conclusion restates the thesis of the paper, reiterates the major arguments discussed in the paper, and them wraps everything up with a strong call to action. And whatever you do, do not add new information in the conclusion. If you’re struggling writing a perfect conclusion, you can get essay assignment help to complete your essay.

How To Write An Essay Proposal: Helpful Guideline For Students https://assignmentgeek.com/blog/how-to-write-essay-proposal/ https://assignmentgeek.com/blog/how-to-write-essay-proposal/#respond Wed, 09 Nov 2022 13:40:25 +0000 https://assignmentgeek.com/blog/?p=1812 Many students want to learn how to write an essay proposal when joining college. Most learners can read and write a five-paragraph essay when completing secondary education. However, very few students have experience with writing an essay proposal. A proposal is a typical assignment; students can write it based on an essay prompt. This article explains what an essay proposal is and how to write it.

What Is A Proposal Essay?

An essay proposal is a paper that describes or proposes an idea or thesis that you intend to write. It outlines the main points you will discuss in the body of the paper while providing supporting evidence for the proposed argument.

A thesis represents the research and its main idea. However, a proposal essay encapsulates the content and purpose of the paper. It aims to convince the educational committee that the topic and approach are sound, hoping to get you the approval to proceed to the actual research.

Some call it a proposal argument that presents a problem that needs fixing or a necessary change. While people mostly write proposals in economics, management, and businesses, scientists, students, and other professionals write them.

What Is The Goal Of An Essay Proposal?

An essay proposal aims to persuade the reader that your topic is worth investigating. It should include a brief overview of the main points you will discuss in the body of the paper and provide supporting evidence for the proposed argument. Here’s what an effective essay proposal does:

  • It suggests a change or idea.
  • It convinces your readers to adopt a change or view.
  • It shows your mastery of a concept in your field
  • It presents a case for a change process or idea’s implementation
  • It confirms the practicality, applicability, and feasibility of an idea, a program, or a change

Learning how to write essay proposal requires understanding its points. Essentially, this paper should represent a well-explained problem or issue. It proposes a way to solve it and a discussion explaining why your solution is the best.

Why You Might Need An Essay Proposal

You need an essay proposal if your teacher or professor assigns you a research paper. This paper outlines the scope and purpose of your project. And this is helpful because it ensures that the involved parties agree about the project and its content. It states to the stakeholder or decision-maker that you understand your project and its scope.

Learning to write a proposal is essential if you want to score a higher grade for a school or college course you’re taking. Also, this skill is vital if you want to write proposals to get business or project funding. Once you acquire this skill, you can write persuasively on a specific topic without struggling to start.

How To Write A Proposal For An Essay

You do most of the work in the pre-writing stages when writing a proposal essay. Here’s what you should do before starting.

  • Know your readers: This essay aims to convince the audience that you have a worth-pursuing idea. Therefore, know who will read the proposal before you write it. Are you writing for a business person, government officials, or academics? If your readers are business people, justify the proposal by highlighting its potential financial benefits. If it’s for government officials, emphasize the proposal’s popularity.
  • Research: You will have a higher chance of persuading others of the proposal if you have secondary sources supporting your claim. Therefore, talk to experts or read their research before writing your proposal.
  • Pre-write: Take your time to brainstorm ideas before writing the essay. Also, think about ways to organize the views once you have them.
  • Revise: Have a colleague or peer read the paper and provide feedback. After that, incorporate the feedback into your second draft.

Perhaps, you can also read a good essay proposal sample to understand what the readers expect you to include in your paper.

Essay Proposal Example

Here’s a good essay proposal example to take a peak at to shape and inspire your ideas, before we get into the details:

Christianity has not often seen eye to eye with women’s issues, particularly reproductive rights. For many years, Christianity in several forms has suggested that abortion is immoral, considering it to be the termination or murder of an unborn child (Stensvold, 2015). Whilst this terminology is helpful for creating an atmosphere of tension between women seeking abortion and their religious views, it needs to be critically examined for the way that it influences women who are practicing Christians and their attitudes towards their own body. The topic of abortion is also important because it has been traditionally seen as immoral, but more and more women (including practicing Christians) are choosing to undergo the procedure. It needs to be reevaluated in terms of modern society and understood for its significance in Christianity.

Historically, the Catholic Church has been one of the biggest influencers on abortion (Stensvold, 2015). Despite this, Pope Francis has suggested that priests have the authority to absolve the sin of abortion and that it may not necessarily be one of the biggest issues facing the church (Dias, 2015). The Catholic Church is a big player in the general Christian world, and it is important to critically analyse the effects that it has on other churches. The purpose of this research will be to examine the rules and regulations of a variety of different forms of Christianity and their views on abortion with reference to the Catholic Church as a baseline.

Methodology

The theoretical perspective of structural functionalism will be used as a basis for conducting a thorough literature review on the topic. By analyzing several different sources which explore different Churches and their views on abortion, structural functionalism will help to place the Catholic Church and others in the context of a changing society. As the structure, norms and morality of the outside world changes, so too do the attitudes of religious believers. The literature review will focus on changing attitudes and beliefs surrounding abortion and so-called reproductive rights to analyse them in context of the Church to understand how both society, and the Catholic Church, influence Christian believers of other Churches. The analysis will include the major denominations in the United Kingdom: Anglican, Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, Pentecostal, Orthodox, and Presbyterian, as well as brief discussions of non-Trinitarian denominations the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Quakers.

Significance

This work is important for several reasons. It will highlight the influence of the Catholic Church on other areas of Christianity, which is important as Catholicism remains the largest denomination. It will also help to highlight the effects of non-religious society on the views of various churches towards sin and absolution, which is important in a rapidly paced, globalized world. It will also help to highlight some of the key differences between denominations of Christianity in the United Kingdom. These three elements will come together to give a full picture on the controversial topic of abortion and the reasoning that many Christians give for its morality or immorality. Understanding this will help guide the ministerial profession into giving good, moral guidance to followers within the Church and to highlight some of the issues that will likely arise in practice.

How To Start A Proposal Essay

Besides indicating your action plan, the proposal should have a theoretical positioning and a relationship to past work in your field. The readers will be more likely to approve your ideas or suggestions if your essay proposal is concise, clear, and engaging.

In most fields, a captivating and persuasive proposal is essential for success. Several proposal types include thesis proposals, book proposals, and science proposals. However, they have similar basic guidelines. Here’s how you can start your proposal.

  • Topic rationale: Demonstrate why the topic is essential in your discipline. Also, include the objective limitations without promising something you can’t deliver.
  • Review past works: Review published works that relate to your topic. Also, explain how your essay builds on the previous studies while exploring new territory.
  • Outline your methodology or approach: Compose an essay proposal outline with the necessary resources, costs, and time for the work.

Different disciplines have varying standards for essay proposals. However, most essay proposals emphasize a specific focus of the study question. Also, they include headings, lists, and visuals, that make reading and cross-referencing easy. Additionally, use a concrete and precise style showing the feasibility of your idea.

How To Write Proposal: A Step-by-Step Guide

Once you have the basic guidelines for writing your essay proposal, the next step is learning the steps to follow when doing it. A good format will help the academic committee comprehend your application’s seriousness or intent. The school, class, or institution you’re submitting the proposal to will determine your proposal’s format. Here’s a general step-by-step guide for writing a proposal.

  1. Introduction: Start by introducing the issue you want to address to the committee. Present a firm introduction to enrapture the readers from the beginning.
  2. Background: The background should provide details of the issue while setting the stage, highlighting past studies on the topic or subject. Address stark facts to show the reason to address the problem immediately. Ideally, start the background with facts instead of your opinion.
  3. Significance: Explain what makes your study significant. Provide evidence from reports, studies, and other literature supporting your argument and showing the need to investigate your chosen topic for a proposal essay.
  4. Research hypotheses or questions: This section should explain your study goals. The hypotheses or questions should guide your analysis. Emphasize the need to solve the problem and how it affects your readers if this doesn’t happen immediately. Use credible facts and sources to support your hypotheses.
  5. Study design: Explain how you plan to conduct your study. Also, address the methodology to use in addressing the issue. In this section, show the readers how you will address the problem, why you choose to do it in a specific way, and the possible outcome.
  6. Conclusion: The conclusion should summarize the information you’ve provided in the other sections. Also, explain how the study will address the focus problem. You can conclude the proposal with one or two paragraphs describing how the study will address the issue. Essentially, the conclusion should morrow the introduction while wrapping up the overall message. This section should also address the consequences of the failure to undertake your proposal. Also, leave readers with something to think about and thank them for their consideration.
  7. Bibliography: This section is optional and lists the literature you read supporting your proposal’s content. Continue with the text if you don’t want to add a bibliography.

If some content doesn’t fit in your proposal, add an appendix. However, your proposal shouldn’t be too long because it can scare off some readers. Therefore, make it concise and clear by proofreading and editing. Also, ask somebody to proofread and critique your work to ensure an engaging and attractive presentation. Seeking help can also make your proposal more organized and helpful.

Essay Proposal Format

A basic format or outline will help you organize your proposal. College professors and teachers have expectations. Therefore, check your educator’s or supervisor’s requirements before writing your proposal. Here’s the basic format for an essay proposal.

  • Introduction: The introduction summarizes the main points while establishing your paper’s purpose. For instance, when proposing a new approach to a topic, the opening can start with a brief description and then present an argument telling the audience why your method is the best.
  • Body: The body of a proposal should present an argument supporting the main idea. Include evidence backing up the claim to compose a well-supported essay. And this evidence can be quotes, statistics, or real-life examples. Include sufficient evidence to support the argument.
  • Conclusion: The conclusion should summarize the argument you presented in the essay. Also, motivate the readers to take action based on your discussion. Most importantly, remind the readers why your topic is essential and its possible impact.

Ensure that each section comes out clearly in your paper. Also, ensure that your ideas flow logically from the introduction to the conclusion.

Can Moodle Detect Cheating? All Details And Tricks Uncovered https://assignmentgeek.com/blog/can-moodle-detect-cheating/ https://assignmentgeek.com/blog/can-moodle-detect-cheating/#respond Fri, 28 Oct 2022 11:31:20 +0000 https://assignmentgeek.com/blog/?p=1801 Is Moodle tracking student activity? Can Moodle detect cheating? Are there any hacks that can help me pass my next exam on Moodle? These are just some of the questions we receive from students all around the world on almost a daily basis. It’s clear that online learning has changed the way students and professors interact. Nowadays, a professor can set up a quiz, a test or an entire exam on an online education platform such as Moodle in a manner of minutes.

Many professors don’t understand that students are not robots. We know that students don’t always have enough time to prepare for 5 tests or quizzes in one week. And let’s not forget the unforeseen circumstances that can arise and prevent a student from preparing adequately for his exams. It’s clear now why so many students are looking for information on how to cheat on Moodle quizzes.

We know some of these tests can be pretty tough. And yes, receiving a low grade means that your GPA will take a serious hit. In fact, we are pretty sure this is the reason you are looking for ways to cheat the system. Well, we have some good news for you! In this article, we will talk about Moodle and about its anti-cheating systems. We will also provide you with a lot of tips and tricks that will help you do better on your next tests.

So, What Is Moodle?

Let’s start with the basics. What is Moodle and how does Moodle work?

Moodle is a learning management system (otherwise known as an online education platform) that is free and open-source. Using this system, your professor can quickly and easily create personalized learning environments. The platform is very flexible, scalable and secure. It also has plenty of tools for professors and students. This coupled with the fact that Moodle does not have any licensing fees, makes the platform one of the most widely used in the world.

According to its developers, Moodle is an all-in-one learning platform. It has a wide range of core functions that can be enabled or disabled with just a few mouse clicks. In addition, the platform gives students and professors access to external collaborative tools such as chat rooms, forums and even blogs. As you probably know, it also makes it easy for teachers to create quizzes, tests and exams.

Can Online Courses Detect Cheating?

Can online courses detect cheating? You will see this questions posted everywhere on the Internet. Because the Covid pandemic changed the way schools interact with students, online learning has gained a huge popularity. Almost every school in the world now offers online courses through various online education platforms. There are even some myths circulating online that can put you in quite a dangerous situation:

  1. Online universities tolerate cheating. This is simply not true. Every school has a code of ethics and holds its students to certain standards. You will have serious consequences if you get caught cheating.
  2. Professors can’t demonstrate that you have cheated on an online test. Yes, they can (and they do). There are many tools that professors can use to monitor your activity and demonstrate that you have cheated.
  3. You can easily beat plagiarism checkers. Perhaps this was the case 10 years ago, but it’s definitely not the case today. Plagiarism checkers have been improved and some even use artificial intelligence to detect signs of cheating.

The good news is that not all Learning Management Solutions (online learning platforms) have tools for monitoring the activity of their students. They can’t lock down your browser or take photos of your screen at random times. Some platforms don’t even store the IP addresses of their users.

On the other hand, many of the modern Learning Management Solutions do feature at least some tools that are meant to prevent cheating. Even if they don’t have these features out of the box, the system administrator can quickly install them at any time. Remember, plagiarism is the most common method of cheating and plagiarism detection tools are becoming smarter every day.

OK, But Can Moodle Track Cheating?

The “can Moodle track cheating” question is relatively difficult to answer.

The good news is that Moodle exam cheating is possible. The bad news is that you can still get caught. Even though the platform does not have the ability to record your screen or detect when you switch tabs, it is able to generate detailed reports about your performance during the quiz. Yes, Moodle will track how long it takes you to answer each question. These statistics can convince your professor that you are cheating.

There is also another thing you need to watch out for: Moodlewatcher. This tool integrates with Moodle to provide professors with detailed information about several things:

  • Course or quiz participation
  • The time and date a student has accessed resources
  • The time and date a student has accessed forums or chat rooms

This means you can be caught looking at some resources on Moodle during the exam. And Moodlewatcher is also capable of monitoring many other actions. This makes it a very dangerous tool if you plan to cheat during your next test. Fortunately for you, we can show you some tips and tricks on how to cheat during Moodle quizzes. While there is always the possibility of getting caught, you can significantly minimize the risks.

Ways To Bypass Moodle Quiz Cheating Detection

Even though we don’t know what kind of Moodle quiz cheating detection systems your college or university has implemented, there are some things you can do without having to worry about getting caught. Here are some of the best tips and tricks on the subject:

  • Access the necessary resources before the quiz, test or exam. This way, you can’t be accused of cheating.
  • Store the resources locally on your computer or, better yet, on another laptop so that you can access them without making suspicious actions on the computer that you are using to take the test.
  • It’s a great idea to print the resources so that you can quickly get the answers you need without switching tabs.
  • Never ever copy and paste answers into your exam form. Your school may be using a plagiarism plugin to detect cheating.
  • If you have to search on Google for an answer, reword it entirely. This way, the plagiarism detection software will not be able to get a positive match.
  • If you want to make sure you pass the test with flying colors, enlist the help of an assignment writing service. Their experienced writers can help you with the correct answer to any question.

These are some of the methods you can use to take the Moodle test and minimize the risk of getting caught cheating. Of course, nobody can guarantee you that you won’t get caught eventually. Some professors even ask that you keep your webcam on during the test so that they can see what you are doing.

Also, there may be some plugins for Moodle that enable professors to monitor your actions in even greater detail. You simply have no way of knowing what software your teacher is using. This is why we recommend that you prepare as much as possible for the exam and not rely solely on cheating. In fact, cheating on a test should be your last resort. Moodle Test Cheating: FAQ

If you are thinking about Moodle test cheating methods, you probably have a lot of questions on your mind. In this section, we will do our best to answer the most frequently asked questions related to Moodle and Moodle test cheating.

Q: How does Moodle check for plagiarism?

A: One of the core features of Moodle is the ability to add plugins. Unfortunately for you, there are several plagiarism plugins that can be added with minimal effort. Even though Moodle does not come with any of them pre-installed, the site administrator will most likely add them in an effort to prevent dishonesty.

Q: Is there a proctoring system for Moodle?

A: Yes, there is, and it’s very dangerous for students who are attempting to cheat during the exam. It works only for MCQ assessments (quizzes) and takes a screenshot and a webcam capture roughly every 30 seconds. If you have a resource open on your screen, or if there is another person helping you take the exam, you will have to face the consequences. If you are stuck you can tell us to ‘take my online class‘ and we can help you out.

Q: Can Moodle lock down your web browser?

A: Unlike some other online education tools, Moodle can’t lock down your web browser. This means you can open as many new tabs as you want. However, keep in mind that there are plugins that can detect the action of switching tabs.

Q: What are Moodle activity reports?

A: Activity reports in Moodle are basically log data that can be downloaded by the professor. These reports also contain the pages you have accessed, as well as the exact time and date you accessed them. In addition, the logs contain the IP addresses you have used to access resources or quizzes.

Q: Should I try to learn how to hack Moodle?

A: Absolutely not! Trying to hack the platform or the administrator accounts will most likely result in serious penalties, including being expelled from your college or university. Furthermore, you may face criminal prosecution, something that has the potential to destroy your future. Bottom line, don’t try to do it.

Q: What kind of penalties am I looking at if my professor has caught me cheating on Moodle?

A: We are very sorry to hear that you have gotten in trouble. Generally speaking, you should be prepared to face the same penalties you would face if you get caught cheating in the classroom. You will most likely get a zero on the test and you won’t be allowed to retake it. In severe cases, you can fail the class, get suspended or even get expelled. Most schools have a zero tolerance policy towards cheating.
